Nigerian 419 email scams being replaced by Russian dating scams

It appears, at least in Australia, that the good old fashioned $20m Nigerian 419 email scam is dying out.

Yes the latest and greatest scams are letters from these “luscious” hotties from the Ukraine or Russia, dying to get their hands on a new Aussie hubby. Yep we are talking about emails depicting a hottie in her 20’s begging for some geriatric old bastard to “marry” her so she can move to Australia and live happily ever after “with him”.

Sad news folks, 99.999% of these emails are from ugly mugu scammers, attaching a photo of some honey from the backwoods of a russian brothel, and starting line of correspondence. Then the hits come, they are ready to emigrate but need some cash to bribe the authorities, can’t transfer the bank accounts, need cash for the fees and they will transfer their avings to your account, etc etc etc.

Why can’t people remember that: if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

New Ozifree site is done

Well after much hard work we have successfully re-coded the entire OziFree website. As we mentioned earlier in another post, we have retained a theme similar to the original, but without all the clutter.

Everything is now managed from one menu bar, with drop down sub-menus. Some categories with many sub-pages such as the Nigerian 419 email scams have an additional menu-bar located at the top of each page.

Another big change is that the single plugboard page has now been replaced with individual pages for each different PlugPanel. Each PlugPanel now displays the installation code required at the bottom of the page.

We have gone all out and have purchased our own HP Proliant web server, and have co-located it directly within a major data-center in Australia. This way we have direct connection to the internet, and are no longer reliant upon the routers and web servers of others.
